He Came. He Spoke. He Inspired.
November 10, 2009

As you might already know, popular teen author and hilarious vlogger John Green spoke to crowds of fans at Main Library and 7 branches during Teen Read Week (Oct. 18-24) 2009. AND HE WAS GREAT! In case you missed him, this is what people had to say about the experience:
" . . .15 CAHS students came to Linden Branch on the morning of Tuesday October 20th to see author John Green. The students listened to John Green read from his books, discuss becoming a writer (including his stint at Children's Hospital in Columbus), share his opinions about Balloon Boy and the Twilight series. John also swore the room to secrecy after he accidently divulged one very big secret (Sorry I'm not going to be the one to let the cat out of the bag!)"

At Parsons Branch "he gave lots of advice to students about what it takes to be a writer, as well as offered many funny John Green-isms. His views on life, superficiality, love, etc."
At Dublin Branch those who came to see him "left the building feeling that they knew the author just a little bit better than when they walked in . . . His sense of humor and total "class" as a person both contributed to a wonderful experience for all."
A middle school media specialist who brought 60 students to Southeast Branch to meet John wrote this to library staff: "'thank you once again for giving our students at Groveport Junior High School the opportunity to hear, see and talk to an author. I thought John Green did a great job in his presentation and related well to our students. You guys are always top notch. On behalf of our students and staff thank you for everything you do.'"

Did you get to see John? If so, what did you think? We want details!
